Sun Outages


  • May cause an interruption in service when the sun passes directly behind satellites that transmit cable signals 

  • Can cause signal loss, channel pixelation, black screen, or the picture to freeze 

  • Occur between late February and early March and late September and early October; around the time of the Spring and Fall Equinoxes
     

    • Approximate times of signal loss typically occur between 10:30 AM and 5:30 PM and last between 5 to 45 minutes

    • Times and duration vary from channel to channel
