TiVo Suggestions

Update - This feature is being phased out on any equipment above TiVo Experience 3. It is no longer available on the most updated versions of Experience 4 TiVos. Other alternatives, like "What to Watch" essentially do the same thing without taking up recording space.

TiVo Suggestions are personalized shows selected to match your preferences

• From the data it compiles, TiVo suggests shows to you based on your viewing and Thumbs Up ratings
   
• When set to record, suggestions automatically record when the TiVo has space available on the hard drive
  
  
   

Deleting Suggestions

Go to TiVo Central | My Shows | Suggestions
(see steps)
 
• Select a program to delete from the list
   
• Press the Clear button on the TiVo remote
 

Deleting an Entire Folder

Go to TiVo Central | My Shows | Suggestions
(see steps)
 
• Select a folder to delete from the list
   
• Press the Clear button on the TiVo remote
   
• Select Delete Everything in this Group
   
• The whole folder will delete
 

Additional option for 4 Tuners, 2 Tuners, Single Tuners, and Minis on TiVo Experience 3: Removing all Suggestions at Once

1. Go to TiVo Central | My Shows | select Recordings
    
2. Scroll down to Suggestions Recorded for Me 
    
3. Press Clear
    
4. Select Delete Everything in this Group
    
5. All suggestions will be erased
   (see steps)

Turning TiVo Suggestions On / Off

• The Suggestions folder remains in My Shows, even when Suggestions are turned off
   
• TiVo Suggestions are set to record when there is space by default
   
• Not available on TiVo Mini; TiVo Mini's get Suggestions from the host box
   
• To turn off TiVo Suggestion recordings
   
  • 4 Tuners, 2 Tuners, Single Tuners on TiVo Experience 3
     
    • Go to TiVo Central | Settings and Messages | Settings | Recording | TiVo Suggestions
      (see steps)
       
    • Yes, record when there is space: TiVo Suggestions record when hard drive space is available
       
    • Don't record TiVo Suggestions: TiVo Suggestions remain, but are not recorded
      
       
    4K 6 Tuners TiVo Experience 4
     
    • Go to TiVo Home | left arrow to Menu | Settings | User Preferences | TiVo Suggestions
      (see steps)
       
    • On: TiVo Suggestions record when hard drive space is available
       
    • Off: TiVo Suggestions remain, but are not recorded
       
• Press Select to confirm changes

TiVo Suggestions On, but not Recording

• Requested TiVo recordings take priority over TiVo Suggestions; if there are no tuners available, TiVo Suggestions will not record
   
• When a tuner is available, and TiVo Suggestions are not recording
  
  

1. Turn TiVo Suggestion recording off (see Turning TiVo Suggestions On or Off, above)
   
   
2. Restart the TiVo
   
   
3. Turn TiVo Suggestion recording on (see Turning TiVo Suggestions On or Off, above)
   
   
4. Restart the TiVo
   
   
5. TiVo Suggestions may take up to 24 hours to begin recording following a restart
